Fabrication Technician

Job Overview:

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Fabrication Technician to join our security systems team. This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate with a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Engineering to begin a rewarding career in the physical security industry. You will gain practical experience with security technologies such as video management systems, access control, and Intelligent Door Controller (IDC) solutions—laying the groundwork for future advancement as a Security System Designer, Software Developer, or Database Administrator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and assemble device components and IDC enclosures to meet detailed technical specifications.
  • Work with physical security systems, including video management systems and access control systems, primarily in the aviation and transportation sectors.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Intelligent Door Controllers (IDCs) to ensure reliable performance and compliance with design specifications.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations of fully assembled IDC units to verify system functionality and performance.
  • Assist in system configuration and integration with software and hardware components.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of build processes, test results, and component inventory.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and field service teams to ensure successful system deployments.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines during fabrication and assembly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Strong interest in physical security systems and technology integration.
  • Hands-on experience or coursework in electronics, wiring, or system assembly prefered.
  • Basic understanding of computer networks, software installation, and diagnostics.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and fabrication specs.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to meet governmental badging requirements for access to secure facilities.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
