Date: 2025-2026 Academic Year-Temporary, Full-Time (12-week coverage)

Pay: Per diem, based on qualifications and experience

Description

Bishop Stang High School is seeking a dynamic and qualified educator to serve as a full-time science teacher for a 12-week maternity leave during the 2025–2026 academic year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the sciences, committed to student success, and capable of maintaining a structured and engaging learning environment aligned with the school’s mission and values.



 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Teach Anatomy, Biology, and Chemistry courses to high school students
  • Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous, and developmentally appropriate lessons
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of assessment methods
  • Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and staff
  • Collaborate with department colleagues to ensure curricular consistency and support
  • Participate in limited school duties and faculty meetings as required during the coverage period
  • Ensure continuity of instruction aligned with school and departmental standards


 

Other Responsibilities: Additional duties as assigned and approved by the Science Department Chairperson and the Administration


 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Prior experience teaching high school science, particularly Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry (preferred not required)
  •  Valid Massachusetts educator licensure (preferred)
  • Commitment to the values and mission of Catholic education
  • Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
