Transportation Staff Engineer

Summary 

We are currently seeking a Staff Engineer to join our Transportation Team in Minnesota who has a passion for engineering.   This position will work with an exceptional team of planning and design professionals focused on a range of projects for city, regional, and state clients. Our transportation team strives to deliver for our clients by envisioning solutions, developing designs, building consensus, and constructing the infrastructure that meets their current needs while also considering the future.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities   

•    Performs design work on a variety of projects using relevant office software, modeling and/or computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) technology.

•    Completes calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems.

•    Prepares specification materials through the use of research and manufacturing catalogs to specify materials, installation, inspection and payment of items specific to a project.

•    Performs research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of project work or inspection.

•    Assists in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates.

•    Completes field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff.

•    Communicates with clients, staff and internal design teams as directed by senior engineering staff.


 

Education and Experience   

•    A candidate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited four-year or graduate engineering university in relevant discipline

•    Recently graduated students are welcome to apply! 

•    A candidate with proficient knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, etc.)

•    Ideally, familiarity with MicroStation, ORD, or other relevant design and analyzation software.

•    Possesses technical verbal and writing skills.

•    Must be able to prepare, read and interpret technical literature and engineering plans.

•    Capable of correctly operating technical analysis equipment and computer equipment.

•    Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to apply engineering knowledge toward solving assigned tasks and engineering activities.

Compensation Range

$56,900.00 - $88,000.00

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Minnesota Omnibus Labor and Industry Policy Bill Article 7 Section 2. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, skills, prior work experience, competencies, and geographic work location. The total annual compensation package may consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate, after a qualifying period, in our performance and discretionary incentive bonus program(s).
