Part-Time Math and Science Teacher

Toras Chaim is a private school seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time Math and Science Teacher for upper middle school grades (7th and 8th). The ideal candidate will inspire students to excel in mathematics and science, foster critical thinking, and nurture a growth mindset. This role involves planning engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and contributing to a positive and collaborative school environment while respecting and upholding the school’s culture and values.

Key Responsibilities:

Instruction and Curriculum Delivery:

Teach 2 periods of math and 2 periods of science 

Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and encourage student engagement and understanding.

Use diverse instructional strategies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
 

Student Support and Assessment:

Monitor and assess student progress through formative and summative assessments.

Provide constructive feedback to promote academic growth.
 

Collaboration and Communication:

Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and admin regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Participate in school meetings, professional development sessions, and community events as required.
 

Classroom Management:

Establish and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.

Enforce school policies and expectations to ensure a safe and respectful learning space.
 

Cultural Sensitivity & Professionalism:

Exhibit a deep understanding of and sensitivity toward the school’s culture, values, and mission.

Serve as a positive role model for students, reflecting the school’s principles in interactions and teaching practices.

Ensure a professional work demeanor and ethic at all time

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in education, mathematics, science, or a related field.

Teaching certification or license preferred.
 

Experience:

Prior experience teaching math and/or science at the middle school level is an asset

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Position Details:

Schedule: Part-time in the afternoon. Specific schedule to be determined.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, with pay continuing during summer vacation and other days off embedded in the school calendar.
