Job Description
Division/Department: Human Services – Substance Use Disorder
Location: Human Services- As Designated
Reports To: Youth Activities Coordinator
Probationary Period: 90 days – Full time, 120 days – Part time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Classification: Child-Related CA
Driver’s License: Level 3
Rate of Pay: $20.45-$23.01
Responsibilities
- Ability to lead, guide, and mentor staff and youth
- Will engage in direct service with youth and families to model tasks performance for groups, and individual activities
- Will be required to create and facilitate ATOD educational presentations to youth, staff, schools and community at large
- Assist supervisor with collection of data for grants, satisfaction surveys, and attendance records.
- Assist supervisor with planning, organizing, coordination and supervision of prevention/intervention activities.
- Assist supervisor with inventory and maintenance of all program equipment and supplies.
- Assist supervisor with ordering equipment and supplies.
- Assists supervisor in staff evaluations and assesses efforts required to accomplish stated goals.
- Act as the Prevention/Intervention point of contact in the supervisor’s absence.
- Will fulfill the duties of the Prevention/Intervention Specialist when needed.
- Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees, band members, and/or clients.
- Assists supervisor to develop, monitor and improve program content.
- Submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the department coordinator.
- Assist supervisor to conduct monthly program audits.
- Transports clients to and from PI programming and/or activities as needed.
- Appropriate/Professional work attire is required.
- Must attend all mandatory department trainings.
- Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees, band members and/or clients.
- Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
- Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
- Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
- Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.
Qualifications
- Valid U.S. Class D Driver’s License with Fond du Lac Insurability is required.
- Associate’s degree in social work, criminology or criminal justice, education, counseling, human services, sociology, psychology or another related field is required.
- Three years of experience working directly with youth and families in a structured setting is required.
- Experience working with diverse populations is required.
- Experience in leadership roles is required.
- Experience in prevention and intervention is preferred.
- Must be free of chemical use problems for at least one year immediately preceding hire and must sign a statement attesting to that fact.
- Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, Access, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook is required.
- Knowledge of Native American communities, culture, customs and beliefs is preferred.
- Experience working with Native American clients, communities and is able to demonstrate cultural sensitivity is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
- Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
- Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
- Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
- Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
- Subject to immunization review and submitted proof of required vaccinations.
- Travel is required.
