The manufacturing engineer is an individual that work on manufacturing efficiency, product development, technical project management, detailing and organization. The individual should have a curious mentality about the products we support, develop and manufacturing always considering how to improve them. The individual has some knowledge in products for use in construction, architecture, cleanroom and/or dry room applications.
Experience Level and Background
- 4 years minimum in construction or manufacturing engineering
Or
- 4 year college degree in engineering, manufacturing or business
Department Roles and Responsibilities
CleanSpace Manufacturing provides high quality components that are used in high technology and life science cleanrooms. These components are innovative and in tune with quickly evolving company’s needs. The components are vertically integrated to allow rapid delivery of products to sites in the US. This department is focused on innovation, certification, development of product and relationships with vendors.
Typical Day-to-Day Activities
Door Production Engineering
- Select door hardware accessories for projects to meet specifications.
- Find and source custom hardware as needed for project success.
- Optimize current product offering and strengthen dimensioning, detailing and installation principles.
- Finalize door 2.0 in both powder coat and stainless steel finishes.
- Guide all procurement into manufacturing teams hands no project drops.
Product Development Strategy:
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for product development aligned with business goals.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights to guide product development initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define product roadmaps and prioritize projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, and manufacturing teams.
- Facilitate communication and alignment across departments to ensure seamless product development.
- Champion a collaborative environment that fosters creativity and innovation.
Product Lifecycle Management:
- Manage entire product lifecycle for products you are assigned, from concept to launch and beyond.
- Work directly on product design, prototyping, testing, and production processes.
- Monitor product performance, gather feedback, and drive continuous improvements.
Cost Optimization and Efficiency:
- Evaluate production processes and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with suppliers to optimize material costs and sourcing.
Quality Assurance:
- Set quality standards for products and ensure adherence throughout development.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation to meet safety, reliability, and performance requirements.
- Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
Risk Management:
- Act on risks related to production development, supply chain, and regulatory compliance.
- Work directly on assigned risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Logistics Engineering, Business, or a related field (degree preferred).
- Experience in manufacturing or construction environments.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Curiosity as a base mindset with the ability to learn about new innovative products and share.
- Knowledge of construction, manufacturing, cleanroom and/or dry room products.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
