Engineering Project Manager

Job Summary

Responsible for leading and coordinating an engineering project from concept through completion, ensuring that technical, financial, and timeline objectives are met. This position plays a key role in driving cross-functional collaboration and supporting strategic business goals through structured project execution. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This role does not include direct supervisory authority but requires strong leadership of cross-functional teams, including task delegation, coordination, and accountability tracking.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Define project goals, technical requirements and resource needs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and external vendors.
  • Conduct regular project status updates and adjust plans as needed to maintain progress.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality requirements.
  • Support new product introductions, process improvements, and design changes.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation including project plans, technical reports, and post-project reviews.
  • Follow all safety and company policies and guidelines. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to drive accountability across teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Thorough attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Solid understanding of engineering documentation and manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to pass a background screen.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering discipline.
  • 5 years of project management experience in a manufacturing or engineering setting preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g. CREO, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP/PLM systems (e.g. Netsuite, SAP) is a plus.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must be able to walk through production areas, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and wear PPE as required in factory environments.
