
Mechanical Design Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop complex electro-mechanical components and assemblies from prototype to production.
- Develop and execute rapid prototypes for proof of concept utilizing state of the art additive manufacturing as well as mature techniques.
- Use failure mode and risk analysis for a safe and reliable product.
- Perform hands on activities such as prototype assembly, installation, and testing.
- Follow guidelines of internal design controls and change controls processes.
- Define and analyze alternative design solutions and work cross functionally to optimize design solution.
- Responsible for managing design files and system BOM.
- Support verification, validation, and regulatory submissions.
- Provide technical support to external design and manufacturing partners.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
- Advanced 3D modelling skills
- Familiarity with FEA for stress analysis.
- Able to quickly grasp user level or system requirements and translate into subsystem requirements and design.
- Ability to plan, track and manage projects to cost and schedule targets.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Valued Qualifications
- SolidWorks experience.
- Extensive FEA experience
- Exposure to additive manufacturing.
- Exposure to IEC-60601 Medical device directives
- MSME
