Crisis Stabilization Specialist
- Greet guests, assess mental health and social needs, and complete intake paperwork.
- Verify homelessness and mental health diagnosis for program eligibility.
- Orient guests to services, shelter rules, and guidelines.
- Identify guests in crisis and assess for Crisis Stabilization services.
- Assist residents with basic needs (food, hygiene, transportation).
- Build rapport with residents and apply de-escalation techniques.
- Secure the building, handle mail, answer calls, and report facility issues.
- Review logs, contribute to staff reports, and complete other assigned duties.
- Engage guests daily, encourage case management participation, and empower self-planning.
- Provide education, referrals, and support for mental health and substance abuse issues.
- Research and refer to appropriate resources, assist with applications.
- Collaborate with service providers, use HMIS for coordination, and provide Crisis Stabilization services.
- Notify agencies of critical issues (suicidal ideation, criminal activity).
- Track shelter attendance, services, and incidents.
- Complete incident reports and necessary data for statistical reports.
QualificationsÂ
- Bachelor's in Social Work or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Respect for individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams.
- HMIS experience preferred.
- Must pass background checks.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
